Sharpen Your Knives with KnifeSpa {giveaway}
About a year and a half ago I finally invested in a nice set of knives. And when I say invested, I mean that I asked for them for Christmas. They’ve been great (except for the one time I cut myself and had to get stitches). Having a great set of knives makes chopping, slicing, and dicing so much faster and easier. After a year and a half though, I started to notice that the knives weren’t feeling as sharp as they used to – even though Eric regularly sharpens them for me when he puts them away.
Coincidentally, I was contacted by a company called KnifeSpa right around when I started getting annoyed with my knives. They offered to professionally sharpen all of my knives for me. It was a pretty simple process. I sent in my knives for sharpening and got them back about a week later. I kept 1 knife at home because I knew I couldn’t live that long without my knives. I sent them out just before I went out of town for a weekend so I could have a couple extra days when I wouldn’t be needing them.
When I got my knives back I was truly impressed. I could slice through a bell pepper like it was nothing. Cutting sweet potatoes for our favorite sweet potato fry recipe was no longer hard work. I couldn’t believe I hadn’t used a service like this sooner. But it was only because I hadn’t heard of them before! Want to know more about how their service works? See here.
About KnifeSpa: KnifeSpa is a service of Master Grinding Service, Inc. based in Rockaway, NJ. They have over six decades of experience, and the tradition of knife sharpening, or “grinding” as it’s known, goes back in their family for at least four generations. They can trace family grinders to Carisolo in the Val Rendena, an area in the province of Trento, Italy.

I was just thinking the other day as I tried to slice a tomato that I needed my knives sharpened. They have never been sharpened since I received them on my wedding day. It would be a treat.

I could really use some new knives but settling for sharp would be nice. Really everyone knows a dull knife is more of a hazzard when cutting.

I guess you have a pretty good idea then of how dull they are. I'd love to win this professional sharpening. It would do a world of good for my culinary skills!Triciat.oshea@yahoo.com
