Homemade Turkey or Chicken Stock
Happy Thanksgiving 2009! Hope you are enjoying today with whoever is special in your life. We have a full house here and I love it. So glad I could be together with most of my family during this holiday.
Over at Craft I’ve got an article for you on how to make Homemade Turkey or Chicken Stock. It’s a great way to use your turkey carcass after you’ve picked all the meat off of it and the stock you make gives homemade turkey soup so much flavor, not to mention inexpensive. Head on over to Craft and give it a try. It doesn’t take a lot of work at all, just several hours of simmering.

love this piece. I just starting making my own broth and I am surprised at how easy it is, as well as how much better it makes a soup taste.seriouslysoupy.blogspot.com

My parents sent us home with their turkey carcass so (in addition to picking off all of the left over meat!) we followed your recipe for the broth and it turned out great! We put it in a crock pot overnight, and froze it in muffin tins and ice cube trays. The only thing we added was a pinch of salt, but that's probably because we're so used to store-bought salty broth. We didn't make it too salty, just enough to make the flavor pop a little more. It sure is tasty–thanks for the recipe!

Since we ate at my in laws I don't have the luxury of making some of this yummy stuff. But I am planning on cooking 2 small birds at Christmas and this will be a welcome follow-up. Love cooking with homemade stock.
