Making this Cucumber Mint Water
The first time I ever made this cucumber and mint infused water was several years back when I hosted a Cheese Tasting Party. We had tons of cheese and other charcuterie items plus every guest brought a bottle of wine to share with the group.
I knew I wanted another beverage on had that was tasty to serve alongside the cheese – for those who might not be drinking, to keep us all hydrated, and to serve as a palate cleanser from all the cheese.
This cucumber infused water was a big hit! Everyone loved the flavor, and definitely appreciated something to drink in addition to all the wine that was flowing.
You can serve this cucumber water recipe for any occasion, or just because!

Tools to Make Cucumber Mint Water
Fresh cucumber water doesn’t require anything super fancy to make, but there are a few kitchen tools that will be helpful. Here’s what I recommend when making this cucumber and mint water:
- Cutting Board – you’ll want a cutting board to slice the fresh cucumber.
- Knives – sharp knives will be helpful to make thin slices of the cucumber. Alternatively, try a vegetable peeler or a spiralizer for thin strips.
- Wooden Spoon – a wooden spoon is helpful for stirring your pitcher as well as muddling the ingredients if you want to release extra cucumber flavor.
- Ice Cube Tray – if you don’t have an ice maker in your fridge, you’ll want an ice cube tray to make ice for this recipe. It will keep your glass of this tasty spa water nice and cold.
- Large Beverage Container (these are great for parties!) or Infusion Pitcher – you’ll need a large pitcher or other storage container to store the batch of water in.

Tips for Making this Cucumber and Mint Water
- Starting with cold water is best; you won’t have to wait as long to enjoy an ice cold glass!
- I prefer to use english cucumbers because the skins are thinner and they have fewer (and smaller) seeds.
- Want a stronger cucumber and/or mint flavor? Muddle the ingredients in the bottom of the glass to release extra flavor.
How Long Does Cucumber Mint Water Last?
Cucumber water is good for about 3-4 days if you remove the cucumber and mint from the pitcher after infusing it. Otherwise, if you leave the ingredients in the water and store it for longer than a day it won’t last as long.
This can be easily done by straining the water into a storage pitcher and discarding the cucumber and mint. You’ll need to store the the infused water in the refrigerator as well.
Then, when you pour a glass of the water simply garnish the glasses with fresh cucumber and mint if desired.
