Creating This Chocolate Banana Almond Milk Smoothie Recipe
I have been dragging all week. I was fighting a cold at the beginning of the week, didn’t sleep well for a couple of days, and had more things on my to-do list than I typically like.
When I have days like that, I totally rely on nutrient-rich afternoon snacks. When I’m craving something a little dessert-like after lunch, but a better-for-me-choice than a cookie, I like to make this Chocolate Banana Almond Milk Smoothie.
It has a natural sweetness from the almond butter and the bananas, but the creamy base features Silk Unsweetened Vanilla Almond Milk. Almond milk has been my preferred “milk” for several years now.
What I Love About this Banana Chocolate Smoothie
I love it on a bowl of granola and it makes a great addition to smoothie recipes, like this chocolate smoothie recipe, which is quickly becoming a household favorite.
I don’t need added sugar in my drink of choice. I love that Silk Unsweetened Vanilla Almond Milk has 0 grams of sugar per serving.
Switching from Vanilla Almond Milk to Silk Unsweetened Vanilla Almond Milk is a simple swap that makes it easy to be more mindful about making dietary choices when I’m recharging with a post-lunch snack.
I’m all about making little changes that overall are better for me without feeling like I’m skimping on flavor.

Thank you for this recipe! I was craving something sweet, but not totally unhealthy. My small changes were regular Silk vanilla almond milk since that’s what we had already and I added a tbsp flaxseed meal.

My go to is cocoa powder with a medium-ripe banana, half avocado, and tablespoon of peanut butter. In the blender with your liquid of choice (almond milk, coconut milk) and you’re done. The avocado gives it a mousse like consistency.

yummy!
